Guitar accompaniment trick for "Deep in the Heart of Texas"
This post goes out to all the music therapists and group song leaders who want to sing, play guitar, and model the four clap pattern in the song, “Deep in the Heart of Texas.” Maybe I am the only one who has had a hard time with this one, but I felt kind of clever when I finally figured out this little trick, so I just had to share. Enjoy the video! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bx_8xpdnrFU What songs do you find difficult to accompany effectively? What tricks have you learned for particular songs? Please share!]]>
THIS is awesome. I will try to implement this trick next week! GREAT idea!
Thanks, Kat! I hope it works well for you!
This is fabulous! I just happened to come across your blog in a google search (nothing to do with Deep in the Heart of Texas) and I’m now hooked. I had been completely avoiding this song unless it was specifically asked for by a resident because the claps got so messy, but this will definitely help! Thanks for sharing!!
Yay! I hope this trick will work for you. It’s a great song to be able to use with folks.
